Let the Day Happen

Jen's coach, Carla hosted a dinner this evening to get her clients together to go over final preparations for Ironman Wisconsin.

Registration, pre-race warm ups, map review, positioning in the water, on the bike, run, etc. What to pack, where to put it, details, details. Lots of lists if you can imagine!

Despite the business side of the meeting, it was also a time to reflect on what all of these people have done to get to this point. Injuries, challenges, set backs--all behind them now.

Race day is coming and all one can do at this point is "let the day happen".

Tri-Geek Blogger Alliance

IRONJEN was recently added to the list of personal websites and blogs (of triathletes) at the popular website, Tri-Geek Dreams. The website itself is the home of William Lobdell, aka "The Kahuna", a triathlete and writer for the LA Times. The Tri-Blogger Alliance is a list of sites made up of passionate triathletes of all skill levels around the US--and even some around the world. Their ramblings are fun to read as they provide various perspectives on the sport. One can appreciate the challenges, successes and experiences that these athletes see in triathlon. Check them out. Some are pretty cool.

IRONJEN Gear is Here!

As Ironman Wisconsin approaches, I am making plans to support Jen on race day. Those plans will be posted in detail on IRONJEN.COM within the next 2 weeks.

As part of my plans, I am having "IRONJEN Visors" made for spectators planning to join us in Madison. These stylish visors will be given (free of charge of course) to fans who come out to cheer Jen on.

Haven't given much thought to checking out the race? Again, full race day details will be posted soon, but in short the race is an all-day event. It starts at 7am and Jen is expected to be on the course for a minimum of 14 hours!

You can come up for the day, or for a couple of hours. Either way, there are plenty of opportunities to see Jen. Consider showing your support and come on out to Madison!
